Events at Wayne Christian School
More Than Moments: Building Community Through Shared Experiences
At Wayne Christian School, events are more than items on a calendar. They’re opportunities for our community to come together, celebrate God’s faithfulness, and create memories that last long after the final bell rings. Whether it’s a chapel service that moves hearts, a championship game under the lights, or a kindergarten performance that brings tears to parents’ eyes, each event strengthens the bonds between students, families, faculty, and supporting churches.
Our events reflect our mission: partnering with parents and churches to educate children from a Biblical worldview. When families gather for the Fall Festival, when students lead worship in chapel, and when athletes demonstrate sportsmanship on the field, these are the moments when faith, character, and community come alive.
Academic Excellence in Action
Academic Competitions
Our students regularly participate in competitions that challenge them to apply what they’ve learned in Bible, math, science, history, and more. These events celebrate intellectual growth while demonstrating how a Biblical worldview shapes every area of learning.
Science Fair & STEM Showcases
Students present innovative projects that explore God’s creation through hands-on learning. These events highlight the wonder of discovery and the intersection of faith and science.
Awards Ceremonies
We celebrate academic achievement, character development, and spiritual growth throughout the year. These gatherings remind us that every student’s progress matters and that excellence honors the Lord.
Spiritual Formation Events
Weekly Chapel Services
Every week, our school family gathers for chapel, a cornerstone of spiritual life at WCS. Students participate in worship, hear Biblical teaching, and grow together in their faith. High school students often take leadership roles, plan services, and lead their peers in meaningful worship experiences.
See You At The Pole
Each fall, students join millions of young people across the nation to gather at the flagpole for prayer before the start of school. It’s a powerful reminder that our students are part of something bigger than themselves.
Spiritual Emphasis Week
Throughout the year, we dedicate special weeks to focused spiritual growth through guest speakers, worship experiences, and intentional conversations about following Christ.
Mission and Service Projects
Students put their faith into action through service opportunities that impact our local community and extend beyond it. These events teach that loving God means loving and serving others.
Athletic Events That Build Character
With approximately 85% of our high school students participating in at least one sport, athletics are a vibrant part of campus life. Our teams compete in eleven sports across middle and high school, and the bonds created on our teams are a special part of the WCS experience.
Game Days
From Friday night football to tournament basketball, our athletic events bring the WCS family together to cheer on student-athletes who demonstrate both skill and Christian character.
Senior Night Celebrations
We honor graduating athletes who have poured their hearts into their teams, recognizing not just their athletic achievements but their spiritual leadership and impact on younger players.
Athletic Banquets
Each season concludes with celebrations that recognize team accomplishments, individual growth, and the coaches who mentor our students in athletics and in life.
Fine Arts Performances
Theater Productions
Our theater program showcases student talent through performances that entertain while highlighting biblical truth. From middle school productions to high school shows, these events reveal the creative gifts God has given our students.
Choir Concerts & Praise Team Performances
Students use their musical gifts to worship the Lord and share His truth through song. These performances demonstrate how art can glorify God and minister to others.
Art Shows & Competitions
Visual art students display their creativity through exhibitions that celebrate the beauty of God’s creation and the diverse talents He’s given our school family.
Community-Building Events
Open House & Campus Tours
Throughout the year, we welcome prospective families to experience WCS firsthand. These events help new families discover whether our community is the right fit for their children.
Fall Festival
This beloved tradition brings together current families, alumni, and the broader community for an evening of fun, fellowship, and celebration.
Grandparents Day
We honor the grandparents who pray for, support, and love our students. This special day allows students to share their school experience with the generations who’ve invested in their lives.
Field Day & Fun Runs
Elementary students compete in friendly competition while building school spirit and celebrating their accomplishments throughout the year.
Boosterthon Fun Run
Our annual spring fundraiser brings energy and excitement to campus as students raise funds for school programs while having a blast with their classmates.
